We do not use any cookies ourselves on our website. A cookie is a small file of numbers and letters that a web server transfers to the hard drive of your computer, where it is stored in the folder intended for cookies. The local storage of your web browser works in a similar way. We use it for exactly one item: your decision in the cookie notice.

We do not use any tracking, analytics or marketing cookies and do not embed services such as Google Analytics. Temporary cookies for navigation (session cookies) are not required either.

What is stored on your device

The entry ld-consent-v1 is not transmitted to our server. It contains no personal information about you, only your choice and the time it was made.

Legal basis: For storing your choice, Section 25(2) no. 2 of the Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), as storage is necessary to implement your decision.

External media: Apple Podcasts

On the podcast pages and for some events, we embed a player from Apple Podcasts (Apple Inc., One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA). Without your consent, you only see a placeholder and no connection to Apple is established. Alternatively, you can open the episode directly in Apple Podcasts.

Only once you agree does your browser load the player from Apple servers (embed.podcasts.apple.com, mzstatic.com, apple.com). In the process, your IP address and usage data are transmitted to Apple, including to an Apple measurement service (xp.apple.com). Apple may use its own cookies and local storage.

Images and fonts

We serve fonts from our own server. Images in articles, on the home page and for events come from the content delivery network of our content management system Sanity (cdn.sanity.io). No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device; for technical reasons, the service receives your IP address.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can change your decision at any time with effect for the future. To do so, click ‘Cookie settings’ in the page footer or directly here:

Blocking cookies in your browser

You can prevent cookies from being stored via the settings of your web browser software. Web browsers generally provide various functions for this, which are explained in more detail in the help section of your browser software. You can usually configure your browser so that all cookies are blocked automatically, that only cookies from certain websites are permitted or that you are warned before a cookie is stored. Please note, however, that if cookies and local storage are blocked, your choice from the cookie notice cannot be saved; the notice will then appear again on every visit. The use of other service providers' websites may also be restricted.

Common web browsers allow you to block cookies as follows, for example:

• Mozilla Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
• Apple Safari: Settings › Privacy › Block all cookies
• Microsoft Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions
